ZEISS Secacam 1 Trail Camera

A straightforward, connected trail camera for keeping an eye on your ground – day and night.

The ZEISS Secacam 1 is the entry point into the ZEISS connected trail camera range, combining excellent image quality, 4G/LTE connectivity and simple operation in an affordable package.

For fox control, deer management and general gamekeeping, it gives you a simple way of finding out what is moving around your ground – and when – without continually having to return to the camera to check it.

See What’s Moving – Even in Complete Darkness

Foxes and deer don’t conveniently restrict their movements to daylight hours, so good night-time performance is essential in a trail camera.

The Secacam 1 combines a highly light-sensitive image sensor with 60 invisible 940nm Black LEDs, allowing it to capture well-illuminated images even in complete darkness.

Because the infrared illumination is invisible to both people and animals, the camera can monitor an area discreetly without producing the obvious visible flash associated with conventional cameras.

Images Sent Straight to Your Phone

The Secacam 1 features integrated LTE/4G connectivity, allowing captured images to be transmitted to the ZEISS Secacam App.

Instead of repeatedly walking back to the camera and potentially disturbing the area, you can see what has been captured from your phone.

The app also allows you to manage your trail camera, check information such as battery level, view the camera’s location on a map and organise your images.

Ideal for Monitoring Fox Activity

For fox control, knowing when a fox is visiting can be just as important as knowing that it is there.

Position the Secacam 1 overlooking a bait point, release pen, gateway, track or other likely route and it can help you build up a picture of regular activity.

With images transmitted remotely, there’s no need to visit the camera every day simply to check whether anything has happened – reducing unnecessary disturbance and saving time.

Monitor Deer Without Disturbing the Ground

The same principle makes the Secacam 1 extremely useful for deer management.

Positioned on woodland rides, well-used deer trails, feeding areas, gateways or crossing points, the camera can help you understand how deer are using a particular piece of ground.

With a 60° field of view and detection range of up to 25 metres, it is well suited to monitoring the sort of trails and routes regularly used by deer.

Fast Triggering

A trail camera needs to react quickly when an animal enters its detection area.

The Secacam 1 uses a sensitive PIR motion sensor and fast trigger response to capture animals as they move through the camera’s field of view.

The camera also automatically adjusts the strength of its infrared flash when triggered, helping to prevent overexposed images while reducing unnecessary power consumption.

Quick & Easy Field Setup

ZEISS has designed the Secacam 1 to be particularly straightforward to install and operate.

The integrated TEST button allows you to quickly check camera alignment and operation while setting it up, while the colour display lets you review positioning and camera settings on site.

It’s an especially good choice if you’re buying your first connected trail camera, but is equally useful as an additional camera for expanding an existing monitoring setup.

32GB Internal Memory

There’s no need to buy or remember a separate memory card. The Secacam 1 has 32GB of integrated internal storage, so it’s ready to start recording once set up.

Images remain stored locally as well as being available through the connected system, giving you a record of activity captured by the camera.

Why We Like the ZEISS Secacam 1

The Secacam 1 gets the important things right. It gives you remote 4G monitoring, invisible night-time illumination, fast motion detection and ZEISS image quality without paying for features you may not actually need.

For us, that makes particular sense if you want to run several cameras across a piece of ground. One camera might cover a fox bait point, another a release pen and another a regular deer crossing – all feeding information back to your phone without you having to continually walk the ground checking memory cards.

It’s also an excellent starting point if you’ve never used a connected trail camera before and want something straightforward rather than overly complicated.
