Rob Crampton

Rob has been shooting in one form or another for most of his life – in fact his trusty BSA Meteor still has a place at the back of the cabinet. Having moved to rural Herefordshire 15 years ago, his interest was rekindled with a focus on fox control.

In 2010, Rob started BestFoxCall – initially as a part-time business but it has since become the full time job.

Says Rob, “There’s something about the challenge of controlling Foxes that draws on our ancestral past – man versus predator and all that… Pitting yourself against a wild predator means you need to get under it’s skin and understand it’s motivations. It’s certainly never a case of turning up and shooting! Most of my foxing is in the interest of livestock protection – whether that be lambs during the spring, commercial free range chickens or domestic fowl.”
